The Heart of Autumn

A journey exploring the darker meanings of
life, death, love, and ink
in fifty-one beautifully intense and hopeful poems

I Write…

I write because words torment
In night, in sleep
In breath, in dream
For love’s contentment

I write for glimpses
Of sanity which cannot
Be held until they are
Trapped, sandwiched between
Paper and ink

I write to express worlds
Only imagined, to share
My joys and passions

I write for me to fill
Solitude and to find
Meaning in all things
Seen and unseen, holy and unholy

I write for words
Everything finds a way
To hold their lives in words
Like blood, words flow
Bringing nourishment and essence
A reason to live

I write because it is
My soul, etched out in
Beautiful words so lovely
On paper with luscious ink
