New Poetry Wednesday: Sinister Black

Sinister Black

Bang my head again the wall
Again and again till I feel it
Between the eyes as fingers
Twist and turn around my throat
Choke, struggle, no words to speak

Try to fight, try to scream
No use, only twitch

Feel the tears pool in corners
Run tracks down my face

Dying and I do not wake
Cannot move to save myself
Was suppose to be safe
Anchored yet drowning
In the cavernous void
Left behind by my safe place

The ink bled and faded
Leaving me nothing but sinister
Sinister black rampant
Only to have me scream
At the top of my lungs

Screams for help that
Nobody hears while
Fingers still twist and turn
