Day 3’s writing continued to be slow and going once morning was over. Wrote two pieces just after midnight and three more at 5am while half asleep and in dark. By some miracle, I was able to read my handwriting later on when I typed them up. Everything after that was agonizingly slow until I decided to vent my frustrations in a free write. A few lines in, I started writing poetry. How many poems exactly, I am not sure. I will free the verses after NaNoWriMo. I made it to 2015 words for the day. This was the first I made it over the suggest minimum word count. I had other things I needed to get done on Day 3 but accomplished none of it. I suspect Monday will be very busy with matters that do not include writing.
Today – Day 4 – started at 4:30am as I kept dreaming about words and freaking out that I would not have enough time to get today’s word count. I spent about an hour writing and achieved 1400 words by spewing anything and everything that came to mind onto the virtual page. Again there are poems in the bulk of the words to be freed later. As the session was coming to a close, I did write two poems as is. The afternoon write-in did produce results bringing me to 2633 total words for the day with more free writing and additional poems. It was a short write-in due to the local region having their NaNoWriMo Kick-off party. The Kick-off party was nice although crowded. 15 RSVPs turned into 30+ people and there was a slight misunderstanding with the venue so it made for interesting time. Three other writers and I carpooled to the venue and on the way back, we discussed the venue options for the Halfway Party since our originally scheduled venue probably cannot hold more than 15 plus laptops. Came up with some good ideas but questionable as to whether or not the ideas can be utilized. A lot of hoops to jump through. I do not see a lot of writing happening the next few days. Have a lot of things to get done or catch up on which has me worried. I hope things will work themselves out.
