Camp NaNoWriMo April 2013 – Days 10, 11, 12, and 13

I had intended to post a blog post on Wednesday evening, Day 10, but I had forgotten in favor of sleep. Fourteen anxiety attacks in eight hours – a new record – hindered my ability to do much of anything on Thursday, Days 11. I spent most of Friday, Day 12, sleeping in an attempt to recover from Thursday. It is a miracle that I was able to write a poem during those two days and get them posted for NaPoWriMo. Now, on Day 13, I still find myself recovering from the prior days but holding fast to the intent of spending the day writing as much as possible even if it is just free writing.

NaPoWriMo is going well as writing one poem a day for a month is a fairly easy task for me. Camp NaNoWriMo, on the other hand, is not going so well. I am very behind in word count. While I had no true intention of reaching 50,000, I had hoped for more word count by this point. I wanted more pieces written for the poetry books and the novels in verse too.

At the start of the day, Kirsch & Kerosene was at 51 pieces and Obiter & Oleander was at 46 pieces. Kirsch & Kerosene made it to the halfway point late Wednesday evening while I was at a write-in. By the end of the day, Kirsch & Kerosene was at 53 pieces and Obiter & Oleander made it to 49 pieces.

Day 10’s NaPoWriMo piece was Mine for Kirsch & Kerosene.

Day 11’s NaPoWriMo piece was Plateau for Obiter & Oleander.

Day 12’s NaPoWriMo piece was Waterfall for Kirsch & Kerosene.

Today, I spent a shocking amount of time staring at the monitor trying to will it into creating words for me. I also spent quite a bit of time staring at lined paper hoping for inspiration. It was clear from the beginning that I wasn’t really in any mental condition to try for a writing marathon. I persevered though, for awhile, and ended up completing some nice pieces.

Nevertheless, I am hopeful that I will be better tomorrow, and hopeful in the productivity of next week.

Today’s NaPoWriMo piece is Squeak for Obiter & Oleander.

If you are frequent follower of the blog, you may have noticed several new tabs in the header. Click on them and they all say ‘coming soon’ because content will start arriving in May. I set up pages and titles for the forthcoming blog consolidation project. Yesterday, while bedridden, I contemplated content for these four categories of posting goodness. Posts for May will probably be past content being transferred over. Considering the other blogs are not as well visited as this one, the content will be new to most although this transfer will not be happening to the prior posts from Tiny House Reveries [to Simplicity Reveries] as those were posted with the intent of their posting day.
