Emma
Forever ago, I left Emma
To her own devices
Along the shore
Of a blackened lake
High in scorched mountains
Kept her there screaming
Walked away to the flume
Nailed to glass walls
Breaks incompletely
Marring its pristine surface
Lapping at my wounds
Rope burns around
My calves bruised
Forever ago, I left Emma
To her own demise
As I departed for the flume
Thought it would cure
What ailed me to my center
In the end, we are alone
Emptied out by scorch
And the flume kept in sight
