New Poetry Wednesday: Jealous Sisters

Jealous Sisters

Jealous sisters besmirched me
Changing locks on the doors
Punish me for things beyond
What I could see wrapped
In tattered blankets scented
With the lavender fields
I ran through with glee
Once upon a time
Seeking meanings from books
That never came back to me
Jealous sisters disowned me
For what the Muses gave
Unto me in waves
To keep me from falling
Down in a watery grave
Like the foolish knaves
Which came before this
Moment I found inside
The lavender fields bowing
As I ran through with glee
Once upon a time
