New Poetry Wednesday, NaNoWriMo 2013 Edition: Black Cats

Black Cats

pacify stolen ninjas
difficult to say
what they are up to
black cats and Scrabble boards
stretched out in front
wood burning stove
in the center of stranger
cabin deep in unfamiliar
fire blacken wood
surrounding outside open doors
pacify stolen ninjas
with broken angels
their wings ornamental
on the smoke stack
sending forbidden signals
vigils for ninjas to follow
difficult to say
what they are up to
stole ledgers from beneath
floorboards creaking under feet
pacify stolen ninjas
black cats and Scrabble boards
moving toward faded sofas
feathers fall like snow
covering lack of ninja tracks
