Poetry Wednesday – Macabre Movements

Macabre Movements

I danced with corpses
Came up for air once
Only not to go back
Even as I try with all might
To the point of ailment
Want to burn all down
If it meant I could
Return to the dance
Sweet beautiful macabre
Movements etched into my soul
Festering tattooed wound
In memoriam of what
Could have been should I
Not have had weakness
Needing air away from
The deathly sway and
Dying decay cried where
I danced with corpses
