Poetry Wednesday – Place Like Home

Place Like Home

There’s no place like home
Yet the notion of home
Eludes like the rivers
Time forgot once upon
A dream so dreary
In which I trudge
Halfheartedly wondering
Wandering eager for
Release from a poisoned
Prison of filigree leaves
Every inch filled with deceit
Singing happy songs claiming
There’s no place like home
